Re: French Existentialism...
Sat, April 10, 2004 - 8:41 PMthem frenchies were good. i enjoy Camus most. oh, and de Beauvoir.
but in terms of french thinkers, Foucault made me think the most, what with his back tracking, reiterating, contradicting and shit. -

Re: French Existentialism...
Tue, April 20, 2004 - 6:40 AMHabermas is rockin. I read(and had a few texts of his) about ten years ago. I need to find badiou. Never read agamben. But I got one for you: Have you ever read Enzo Paci? He does a kind of phenomenology and Marxism thing. It was published around 1975 under the Northwestern University Existentialism and Phenomenology Series. One of the few books I retained. -

Re: French Existentialism...
Mon, December 6, 2004 - 4:04 AMHello everyone, I just recently started studying Sartre and his philosophy. I knew that he had a socialist slant but I had no idea how strong. From what I understand he steered existentialism straight into Marxism. Saddly, I don't quite understand how he planned to blend the two. If anyone can clarify the Sartre/Marx connection for me I would love to read about it. Thanks. -

if i remember well, it is in merleau-ponty's Adventures of the Dialectic, that you can find some explanations about that connection.
