    heya barnaby,

    just noticed that very debate is used as an introduction for The Foucault Reader ...on pantheon? books...
    ( and if yur on the foucault tribe that link was posted there as well without much discussion )

    yep, that clip gave me a pretty good picture of the schism between those who go for the juggular /root of the problem ( foucault)
    and those who try establish a practical platform in fighting oppression... (chomsky, anarchist syndicalism ) ...

    in a very very boiled down sense it seemed to characterize the typical french intellect vs. the moral american ... and if only the 2 positions could coordinate an attack simultaneously from both sides in brightly colored spandex tights i think they might have a chance of taking down the empire... at least for one round.
